We want your Matua wine to be as fresh and flavorful as possible, which is why we created the Chill Check – which leverages “thermographic label” technology to show when your Matua is chilled to perfection and ready to drink.
How does our Chill Check work?
Just place your Matua wine in the fridge, freezer, cooler, or your preferred cooling device! Once the wine is chilled to perfection, the snowflake in the bottom right corner will turn blue.
What’s the perfect drinking temperature, you ask?
Our Chill Check turns blue at the sweet spot of 44 degrees Fahrenheit. This temperature ensures you are tasting the best possible flavors and aromas. Once blue, pour yourself a glass and enjoy!

Our story
Matua was the first winery to produce Sauvignon Blanc in New Zealand. Founded in 1974 in a tin shed in West Auckland, Matua is now enjoyed in over 30 countries worldwide.
